Monroe County Sheriff's Office has an opening for a CHIEF PILOT. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office operates a S-76 on a 135 certificate. Candidates must be FAR 119 experience. Preference will be given to those who meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:
- Prior EMS civil or military flying experience multiengine helicopters or ATP written passed prior to start of employment
- ATP, Rotorcraft, + current 1st or 2nd class medical
- No accidents or FAA violations in past 10 years
- 500 hours medium twin (over 7000 pounds)
- 200 hours acting as PIC with CFR14, part 135.297 qualification in medium twin helicopters (Part 29 aircraft)
- 5000 hours total time, 2000 in Rotorcraft (simulator time excluded)
- 100 hours in turbine helicopters within the past 12 months

Training and qualification will be conducted in Full Flight Simulator and Aircraft. Candidates must be able to pass a rigorous background check.
Job duties include scheduling pilots, training with vendors, line check rides, administrative work, tacking pilot currency and flying.
