Job Description

Ground School Instructor

Morson Wynnwith is looking to recruit an A109E Pilot Ground School Instructor to take up an 18 month contract post based in Cornwall.

JOB PURPOSE

The Pilot Ground School Instructor is responsible for ground school tuition for pilots' technical courses on the A109E Helicopter during the Multi Engine Flying Training programme. the post holder will be responsible for preparing and delivering technical classes, monitoring customer progress and overseeing examinations on related subject matter. You will need to demonstrate key personal qualities, including experience, technical competence and instructional ability and, as part of the customer contact team for Operational Flying Training, will need to be confident and capable in front of the customer at all times. The post will be based at Newquay, Cornwall.

KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Assist in developing courseware, syllabi and infrastructure.

Responsibility for assisting the organisation and day-to-day running of ground school for the multi/engine phase of training.

Assist in maintaining a high standard of classroom resources and courseware to ensure the highest standards of lesson delivery.

Developing, adapting and delivering lesson plans.

Supervision of students in ground school during the multi/engine ground phase.

Acting a pastoral liaison with all students attending ground school.

Referring any language-related customer problems to Head of Operational Flying Training and recommending remedial action.

Identification and amelioration of risks associated with conducting the training classes to ensure timely and accurate passage of technical information.

Delivering technical ground instruction in accordance with defined syllabi and in accordance with the LMS.

Invigilating ground school exams and compiling accurate written records of students' performance.

Liaising and reporting on ground school matters to the Head of Operational Flying Training.

Undertake additional minor duties that are consistent with the nature of the role.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Able to develop and maintain good relationships with the customers.

Proven track record of technical ground instruction.

Experienced technical instructor.

Qualifications in instructional delivery.

Good communication skills.

French language desirable but not essential.

An ability to work unsupervised for long periods.

A knowledge of Systems Approach to Training (SAT).
