MAJOR DUTIES

This is in support of a Bell 206B III, Big Cypress National Preserve, Ochopee, FL.

 

Perform preflight, post flight, and operational checks to determine aircraft airworthiness. Ability to determine aircraft weight and balance. Obtain and evaluate weather reports and briefings. Proficient in the operation of all aircraft equipment e.g. water bucket, GPS, aircraft avionics, and long line vertical reference. Ensure the aircraft is flown within its performance limits. Make good decisions on whether to fly a particular mission or determine alternatives. Conduct aircraft operations in remote areas to include diverse habitats such as wetland prairies, marshes, offshore and mountainous areas, including landing in unimproved areas, such as mud, water, grass and shifting winds and low visibility. Monitor maintenance tracking reports, providing time flight time records to AMD and to insure all maintenance is completed. Communicate effectively concerning maintenance inspections, component overhaul, retirement items, or component exchanges. Communicate knowledgeably concerning service bulletins, airworthiness directives, STC's. Facilitate aircraft billing requirements, and keep accurate records. Obtain COR/COTR (Contracting Officer's Representative / Contracting Officer's Technical Representative) certification. And serve as the COR/COTR for the contracting officer on contracting issues. Ability to communicate effectively with the vendor regarding contract compliance. Assist the contracting officer in resolving non compliance issues.
