Basic Qualifications:

- Must have an Aeronautical Certificate, valid Commercial Rotocraft or ATP Certificate and current instrument rating.

- Must have the ability to obtain a Class I FAA Medical Certificate before start date.

- Must have experience flying utility long line missions.

- Must possess a minimum of 3,000 hours helicopter pilot in command.

- Must possess a minimum of 800 hours pilot in command above 5,000 feet DA.

- Must possess 500 hours pilot in command of AS 350, MD 500, or EC 135 series helicopters.

Core Competencies:

- Demonstrated experience with helicopter operations in a utility environment.

- Demonstrated experience with short haul operations (e.g., human external cargo).

- Demonstrated experience participating in the development of policies and procedures related to missions, training and safety.

- Demonstrated experience maintaining required documentation on duty time and flight statistics.

- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local regulations that impact aircraft operations.

- Must demonstrate a commitment to safety.

- Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with diverse audiences.

- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with internal and external personnel.

- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Lotus Notes.

- Must be willing to work flexible and changing schedules (e.g., four 10 hour days, weekends, etc.) including stand-by duty on weekends, and must be able to report to the home base within one hour of being called in.

- Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, manage risks and safety appropriately, support department initiatives, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.

- Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.

- Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

COMMENTS: Additional testing may be required as part of the selection process for this position. The primary work location for this position is the Ontario Airport; however, the successful candidate will be asked to relocate to the Chino Airport in the first quarter of 2011. The successful candidate will be required to travel for this position, as well as stay overnight for extended periods of time. Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Preferences:

A minimum of 150 hours experience flying utility long line missions.

Typical Responsibilities:

This position will be a Flight Captain in the Transportation Services Department (TSD) Air Craft Operations division within Southern California Edison (SCE)'s Operations Support Business Unit (OSBU). The successful candidate will provide aerial support for TSD's customers, which primarily include the Transmission Distribution Business Unit (TDBU), Hydro and Power Production. Aerial support missions include passenger transport, external lifts, polesets, routine and special patrols, snow surveys, crew support and photography. Typical responsibilities will include: Developing and filing flight plans; performing pre-flight inspection and planning; piloting Edison aircraft as directed by Aircraft Operations' flight operations staff; participating in the development of policies and procedures related to missions, training and safety; maintaining all required documentation on duty time and flight statistics; and performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
