Objective

Responsible for providing the highest level of academics training to Bristow Academy Military Training Program customers in accordance with all applicable FAR’s and Bristow Academypolicies and guidelines.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain a high level of technical proficiency in order to provide the highest level of academic training possible to all Bristow Academy students.
  • Assist the Director of Academics in developing, improving and monitoring all academic training programs to ensure they meet the standards set forth by the FAA, BristowAcademy, the Military Training Program, and customer requirements.
  • Assist in translating all required training material into Spanish or into English in support of the academics phase of the training.
  • Responsible for our military students well being and accountability to the US State Department, as required while in school and during the students’ personal time.
  • Assist in all phases of training at the discretion of the Director of Academics.
  • Maintain the highest level of safety at all times
  • Provide quality ground instruction to Academy customers
  • Manage student workload appropriately and maintain superior customer service
  • Ensure student training records are complete, accurate and up to date
  • Conduct instruction using only Bristow Academy and MTP approved training material.
  • Discuss all training plans with customers prior to performing services.
  • Duties include courseware development and teaching in all phases of our Ground Schoolprogram.
  • Prepare classroom environment to facilitate maximum learning.
  • Conduct training classes.
  • Prepare lesson plans and visual aids to support instruction.
  • Develop tests that measure student's learning retention.
  • Maintain current manuals and reference materials.
  • Prepare course completion forms on assigned students.
  • Assist with the change, development, and implementation of current and new training Programs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with supervisors and customers.
  • Provide feedback to others that conforms to general feedback guidelines regarding tone and timing.

Education / Certifications / Languages/Experience:

  • Holds a current FAA Advance Ground Instructor.
  • Holds a current FAA Ground Instrument Instructor.
  • Must have FAA ground instructor certificate with Advanced and Instrument ratings.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish, both in oral and written forms.
  • Must have three years aviation experience.
  • Must be computer literate in the use of word processing, spreadsheet data input, and visual presentations.
  • Must have three years aviation experience.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skill to effectively teach Initial Entry Rotary Wing students in one or a combination of the following subjects:  Theory of Rotary Wing Flight, Flight Support Subjects, Navigation, Aviation Weather, Basic, and Advanced Instruments.
  • Must be computer literate in the use of word processing, spreadsheet data input, and visual presentations.
  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skill to effectively teach Initial Entry Rotary Wing students in one or a combination of the following subjects: Theory of Rotary Wing Flight, Flight Support Subjects, navigation, Aviation Weather and Basic/Advanced Instruments.
  • Military experience preferred, but not required.
