| Description: | Summary Plan and provide direction to flight personnel engaged in production test flight programs in AEC’s Mississippi production facility, under the direction of the VP, Flight Operations. |
| Duties: | Primary Responsibilities • Plan and supervise production test flight programs to assure airworthiness of aircraft: validating aircraft and systems performance and flight characteristics. Ensure compliance with company specifications and design. • Perform production test flights of aircraft and systems to assure compliance with the AEC production certificate. • Provide coordination between flight operations and manufacturing & quality organizations to ensure on schedule, on time delivery to customers. • Develop in conjunction with Engineering, flight test programs related to modified aircraft to validate design, aerodynamics, systems performance, flight characteristics and other significant aspects of such aircraft. • Analyze, interpret and distribute flight test results as appropriate within the production activities of AEC. • Ensure test equipment used by flight test is appropriate for the required task. • Monitor AEC flight operations to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and flight safety requirements. • Travel to support company and customer requirements, including customer delivery, ferry and in field maintenance and/or test flights. • Coordinate the activities of flight operations with FAA, other government agencies, Engineering, Accounting, Manufacturing and other AEC departments. • Maintain and ensure compliance with DCMA approved flight operations procedures. • Keep the VP, Flight Operations informed of progress, actual or incipient problems as well as secure concurrence regarding actions and plans for problem solution. | Qualifications: | Education BS degree in electrical, mechanical or aeronautical engineering or other technical discipline or equivalent. Must possess a Commercial Pilot certificate with a Helicopter and Instrument rating, 4000 hours flight time; 3000 which are in helicopters and 2 years flight test. Must be a graduate of an accredited Test Pilot School with a preference given to graduates of the one year course at the Naval Test Pilot School or equivalent.
