Midwest MedAir is an independent EMS company utilizing an EC 135 P2+ helicopter operating single pilot IFR Part 135, and also has 50 ground ambulance units positioned in and around the state of Nebraska. We are headquartered in Columbus, NE.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The chief pilot ensures all company rotary wing pilots operate in a standardized manner and in accordance with applicable federal aviation regulations and are in compliance with Midwest MedAir's Operation Specifications and operations manual. The chief pilot is the liaison between the director of operations and the line pilots for federal regulation compliance and all aviation technical matters. The chief pilot is responsible for the overall aircrew training and functions as the training manager/trainer and is responsible for the evaluation of all pilots. The chief pilot may act as a company check airman when authorized by the FAA. The chief pilot will also function as a line captain. The chief pilot will maintain pilot records to include training and qualifications.
This position will also be a trainer position for initial new hires. It is our intent that the trainer position will eventually be held by a full time training captain with the expansion of our company. However, initially this role will be filled by the Chief Pilot.

Experience required:
- Min 3000 rotorcraft flight hours
- Min 150 Instrument flight hours
- Min 500 night flight hours
- EMS Experience
- NVG experience perferred
- EC 135 experience preferred
- 3 of the last 6 years as an FAR 135 PIC Rotorcraft
License / Certifications:
- FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter Rating
- Instrument- Helicopter
- CFI/CFII
- AGI
- Current FAA Class 1 or 2 Medical Certificate
