Title: Pilot Leader

CSC has an immediate opportunity for a Rotary Wing Maintenance Test Pilot with experience in the MD 500/530 aircraft. As an aircraft test pilot and inspector in this program, employee will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe administration of aviation assets. In addition to inspecting for compliance with aviation regulations, inspectors' duties include the assurance of aircraft, aircraft systems integrity and documentation and a review of the maintenance process.

Essential Job Functions
* Performs duties associated with the acceptance testing of foreign & nonstandard rotary wing aircraft to validate airworthiness and acceptance by the US Government. These inspections will be performed on MD 500/530, Bell, Sikorsky, Hughes and other commercial and non-US military rotary wing aircraft; after major and minor repairs and modifications, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, on avionics systems including, but not limited to, communications, navigation and flight instruments.
* Pilots aircraft, reviews load weight, fuel supply, weather conditions and related flight plans to ensure safety of flight. Communicates plans with others to facilitate understanding of plans and safety of operations.
* Pilots models of test aircraft during engineering tests, production acceptance and flight test support through established tests and maneuvers. Determines compliance with specifications and approves cockpit configuration.
* Performs aircraft operation functions in support of various base range operations including transporting passengers, mail and freight.
* Manages flight operations efforts including preparing flight plans, performing pre-flight inspections, obtaining takeoff clearance, maneuvering aircraft to take off position, piloting aircraft to destination in accordance with flight plan, regulations and/or general instructions.
* Conducts demonstration flights with customers, government officials, or other personnel aboard to exhibit aircraft performance, flying qualities and system capabilities.
* Oversees and ensures compliance with regulations requiring documentation of aircraft maintenance, testing data and other related materials.
* Provides training for less experienced pilots as appropriate.
* Oversees other pilot flights, recommending procedural updates and revisions as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
* Eight or more years of experience in aircraft operation
* Experience working with aeronautical principles and practices
* Experience working with flight planning documentation
* Experience working with production processes
* Experience working with training processes and procedures

Other Qualifications
* FAA Airframe and Power Plant License, FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) and an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's (AME) license big pluses
* Secret security clearance
* Rotary wing maintenance test pilot experience in the MD 500/530 aircraft
* Good analytical and problem solving skills
* Good organization and time management skills
* Good interpersonal skills to interact with team members, vendors and contractors
* Good communication skills to interact with internal and external personnel and to convey project intent
* Leadership skills
