Company Info: Since 1979, CareFlite has provided air and ground ambulance services to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. CareFlite is the oldest joint use helicopter program in the United States and the eighth oldest air medical program. Today, CareFlite, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, operates five helicopter bases, 911, critical and non-critical care ground ambulance, wheelchair van service, fixed wing air ambulance, a state-of-art communications center, and an outreach education program. CareFlite is sponsored by Baylor Health Care System, JPS Health Network, Methodist Health System, Parkland Health and Hospital System and Texas Health Resources (Arlington Memorial, Harris Methodist and Presbyterian Hospitals).

Job Desc: CareFlite currently has openings for experienced helicopter pilots to command single pilot helicopters in the greater Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Pilots work on a 7 on/7 off schedule.

Through compliance with FAA regulations, AAMS and CAMTS minimum qualifications and program standards, the qualified individual will operate Single-Pilot IFR equipment as required to ensure safe and efficient patient transportation.

Requirements: Minimum Requirements:

  • Current FAA Commercial Certificate with Rotorcraft, Helicopter and Instrument, Helicopter ratings;
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate;
  • 2500 hours Total Time;
  • 1500 hours helicopter PIC;
  • 1500 Turbine flight hours;
  • 250 unaided night-flight hours; and,
  • Successful completion of company orientation interview, medical evaluation, pre-employment drug screening, previous employer record review and FAA background investigation.

    In addition to the above requirements, the preferred candidate will have

  • EMS and Single-Pilot IFR flight experience;
  • 3000 total flight hours with 500 civilian flight hours;
  • 1000 total flight hours in a multi-engine helicopter;
  • Agusta A109E Factory ground and flight training, and,
  • Airline Transport Certificate.
