Coastal Helicopters in Southern California is looking for a part time, experienced utility pilot, to cover relief cycles for 2 Type III Exclusive Use Forest Service contracts flying both the B2 ,and B3 Astar. Relief Cycles can be either 2 or 3 days, depending on the current level of fire activity. Travel days are paid at a half day rate. Full work days are paid $275 per 9 hour day, $25 per flight hour, $50 dollars per day perdiem, and $40 per hour of overtime, for any work conducted over 9 hours. All housing while on contract is provided. This is not an entry level position, so no training applicants please. The applicant should already be carded, and long line/VR qualified (Or be currently USFS Cardable) . You must be familiar with AStar performance planning and Forest Service Load Calc’s. There will be a minimum of 12 days per month of work, with the possibility of more work if fire conditions demand it.
Living in LA is not a requirement, but you must be within one hour of Los Angeles via Southwest.
MINIMUM PILOT QUALIFICATIONS Required at Date of Hire :
- 3000 Hours Total Time
- 2000 Hours Turbine Time
- 750 Hours AS350 PIC Time
- Must be USFS Cardable is the AS350 Astar.
- Commercial Rotorcraft Helicopter Certificate with Helicopter Instrument Rating
- Current Class II Medical Certificate. (First Class Preferred)
