Assistant Chief Flight Instructor - FAA Program- BA-00193
Description
Objective:
The candidate will maintain supervisory authority over the allocation of students to instructors, provide support for student/instructor grievances, and maintain communication with Assistant Chief Flight Instructors and Team Leaders. This person will also assist the Chief Flight Instructor(s) with regard to FAA regulatory requirements and base operations, including, but not limited to: Part 141 Operations, Academy Procedures and Policies, and CFI training.
Essential Functions:
- Allocate students to instructors for Rotorcraft Ground School
- Coordinate new student/instructor meetings
- Maintain the Student Status Board for tracking requirements
- Coordinate with Team Leaders regarding workload requirements and student progress
- Resolve student/instructor grievances or issues
- Liaise with Records & Compliance Manager regarding training record issues
- Liaise with Student Services regarding Visa issues
- Assist Chief Instructor with Instructor orientation, including instructor training files, eLog updates, and instructor training files
- Coordinate with Standardization Manager and Stage Check Pilot Supervisor to ensure standardization within the Academy
- Assist Chief Instructor with amendments or updates to new and existing Training Course Outlines (TCO’s)
- Assist Chief Instructor with new hire forecasting
- Provide CFI instruction and advanced flight training such as full down autorotation and safety training

Required Education/Certifications:
- Current FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter Pilot Certificate with Instrument-Helicopter Rating
- Current FAA Flight Instructor Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate and has held that certificate for more than 24 calendar months. If time holding certificate less than 24 months, must meet requirements of CFR 61.195(h)(3).
- At a minimum, a current FAA Class 2 Medical Certificate
- Total helicopter flight time of more than 1,000 hours preferred
- Experience with Schweizer 300CB/CBi model helicopter required
- Experience with Robinson R-22 and R-44 model helicopters advantageous, but not required
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office© Professional applications required.
- Prior management experience preferred.
