Queensland Government Helicopter Rescue Service (EMQ Helicopter Rescue) Air Bases are strategically located in Brisbane (Archerfield), Townsville and Cairns. The Helicopter Service works closely with Queensland Health, clinical coordinators, community aviation providers, the Queensland Ambulance Service, other emergency services, and the Queensland Police Service. EMQ Helicopter Rescue provides helicopter services to meet emergency and other specific aviation needs of the community and the Government. These services include aeromedical retrievals and transfers, search and rescue activities, counter disaster activities, emergency Police operations, firefighting, and official Government transport. |

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
-
Possession of Air Transport Pilots Licence (Helicopter),
-
2500 hours minimum experience on helicopters.
-
1500 hours as pilot in command on helicopters.
-
500 hours turbine helicopter experience.
-
200 hours multi-engine turbine pilot in command on helicopters.
-
100 hours night experience in helicopters.
-
Current Class 1 Medical.
-
Current command instrument rating on helicopters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Provide a workplace environment where quality management and assurance practices can be developed and implemented by all personnel.
-
Carry out all pilot duties in accordance with the Civil Aviation Regulations and with the EMQ Helicopter Rescue Operations Manual.
-
Fly single pilot, instrument flight rules (IFR), multi-engine helicopters on aeromedical, search and rescue, emergency and counter disaster operations and other Government support tasks.
-
Liaise closely with the Base Managers and Senior Aircrew Officers on all matters pertaining to the efficient operation of the base.
-
Maintain crew co ordination and co operation in a multi crew environment.
-
Undertake training and skills upgrading as directed by the Chief Pilot or Base Manager.
-
Ensure the Base Manager is promptly advised on all matters affecting the safety, serviceability or effectiveness of aircraft or the operation.
-
Ensure all flight and task documentation is accurately completed and all crews adequately briefed and de briefed and any deficiencies promptly addressed.
-
Carry out and support administration duties as directed by the Base Manager.
-
Assist in maintaining a safe and clean aircraft and hangar environment.
-
Undertake and support operational duties during emergencies and disasters as necessary.
