Aero Med operates S-76 helicopters in a single pilot IFR environment. Michigan's only flight-physician staffed air medical transport program, Aero Med is wholly owned by Spectrum Health.
Aero Med transports individuals from the scenes of accidents and community hospitals to Spectrum Health. The helicopter is staffed with physicians and nurses who perform in-flight emergency care. There is an aircraft in Grand Rapids, Michigan, that's available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and a second aircraft in Big Rapids that operates part time during peak hours.

Schedule: Full time, 72 hours per two week pay period including every other weekend.
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Pilot Qualifications: Operates the Aero Med Spectrum Health helicopters, and maintains authority for decision making regarding acceptance of flights as it relates to safety, mechanical and weather conditions. Assists and supports the Manager of Flight Operations in all aspects regarding corporate policy and actions.
o FAA Commercial Rotorcraft / Helicopter License with Instrument endorsement
o 2000 hours helicopter flight experience,
1500 hours Pilot in Command with at least
200 hours unaided night, as Pilot in Command
o Current Class II FAA physical
o Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate preferred, with ratings for Rotorcraft-Helicopter
o EMS experience preferred
o FAA part 135 experience preferred
