Hillsboro Aviation is looking for a B206L4 and Bell 407 pilot serving established EU USFS and DOI contracts. The applicant must be experienced in wild-land fire fighting operations and he/she must be card-able for the 2012 season in the make and model. The applicant must be current and proficient in 150 ft vertical reference operations in order to pass a DOI short haul check ride (for the Zion NP, UT); a previous short-haul DOI card would be considered a plus.

The perfect candidate must be a motivated and professional individual with excellent customer service skills; he/she must be able to relate to the customer’s operational environment as well as their demands and needs for a safe operation within the guidelines of theUSFS/DOI. The perfect candidate will be able to work independently under little supervision; he/she is organized, has strong work ethics and a desire to strive for organizational / operational improvements utilizing our established Safety Management System.

The work schedule for each relief consists of 4 days (1 day to the operation site – 2 days relief – 1 day travel from the operation site). All contract related travel expenses, lodging and per Diem during the contract period are covered by Hillsboro Aviation.

The offered employment opportunity is only seasonal. • FAA issued Commercial / ATP certificate with Rotorcraft-Helicopter rating and English Proficiency Endorsement; Com w/instrument rating is a plus
• Minimum 3,000 hours PIC helicopters
• Minimum 1,500 hours PIC in turbine helicopters
• Minimum 500 hours PIC Mountain (Helicopter / above 8,000 MSL)
• Minimum 100 hours PIC in Bell 407
• Minimum 100 hours PIC in Bell 206L
• Minimum 300 hours PIC long-line experience (100’ and 150’) and precision load placement with a 150’ line - must pass DOI short haul check ride!
• Previous fire suppression experience
• Must keep complete and accurate records
• Must be legal to work in the US and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and be capable to climb the aircraft to perform pre-flight and other pilot related duties

Preferred:

• Current DOI/USFS Card
• Recent DOI Short Haul Card
• Current passport
• Good computer skills
