Lakelse Air Ltd is seeking interest for the position of Operations Manager. We are expanding our business and will require this position to be filled as the current operations manager will be assuming a new role within the company.
Previous experience is not essential but is preferable. We offer a very competitive wage and benefit package relative to experience.
The position will require the individual to relocate to our main base of operations in Terrace B.C.
Lakelse Air Ltd. Helicopter Services has been in business since its incorporation in 1991. Since that time a lot has changed and Lakelse Air has become one of the largest helicopter operators in northwest BC.
We operate a fleet of 13 aircraft including Bell 206/L, Eurocopter AS350 B2/D2, AS355N and Bell 204/05. Lakelse Air offers charter services to clients in British Columbia and across Canada. We provide helicopter services to many diverse sectors, including mining, avalanche control, environmental support, fire suppression, search & rescue, Oil & Gas, emergency medical services, and heavy-lift aerial construction.
Lakelse Air operates bases in Terrace, Prince Rupert and Bob Quinn Lake.
The Operations Manager is responsible for safe flight operations and shall be qualified in accordance with CASS 723.07(2) (a) (i). In particular, the responsibilities of the position include:
•Control of operations and operational standards of all helicopters operated;
•The identification of operations co-ordination functions which impact on operational control, (e.g. maintenance, crew scheduling, load control, equipment scheduling);
•Supervision, organization, manning and efficiency of the following:
•Training program; and
•The contents of the air operator’s Company Operations Manual;
•The supervision of and the production and amendment of the Company Operations manual;
•Liaison with the regulatory authority on all matters concerning flight operations including any variation to the Air Operator Certificate;
•Liaison with any external agencies which may affect company operations;
•Ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with current regulation standards and air operator policy;
•Ensuring that crew scheduling complies with flight and duty time regulation;
•Ensuring that all crew members are kept informed of any changes to the regulations and standards;
•The receipt and auctioning of any aeronautical information affecting the safety of flight;
•The dissemination of helicopter safety information, both internal and external’;
•Qualifications of flight crew; and
•Maintenance of current operations library.
•Strong knowledge of CARS.
•Strong Knowledge of SMS.
•Must meet Transport Canada’s requirements for Operations Manager
•Must have excellent team leadership, management, communication and organizational skills.
•Strong background in Microsoft Office.
