Geisinger Health System is a not-for-profit, fully integrated health services organization serving Central and Northeast Pennsylvania. LifeFlight is a component of the health system’s response to critical care transport needs with 6 air ambulances operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week from 5 locations in Central and Northeast PA.
The Pilot-in-Command (PIC) is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of a flight assignment. The pilot-in-command and is authorized by Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) to process a flight assignment received from the Life Flight Communications Center and determines whether to accept or decline a flight assignment based on weather conditions or other factors that may impact the safety of flight. The Pilot-in-command will evaluate Visual Flight Rules (VFR) options and Instrument Flight Rule (IFR) options when applicable. Works collaboratively with other members of the flight program.
Reports to the Chief Pilot.

|Requirements:||1. 2000 total flight hours with a minimum of 1500 helicopter hours, 1000 hours Pilot in Command time, 1000 hours of Turbine engine time and 100 hours of Night flight hours.
2. 75 hrs IFR experience. At least 25 hrs of actual non simulated Instrument experience. VFR certification accepted with commitment to obtain IFR certification.
3. Commercial helicopter license with IFR rating.
4. Preferred ATP license.
5. FAA Class II Physical Medical Certificate.
6. Preferred helicopter EMS experience
7. Preferred Night Vision Goggle (NVG) experience
