Fire Fighting & SAR Pilot - Contract & Charter Department
Hillsboro Aviation is offering a pilot position within the contract and charter department for an experienced helicopter pilot with USFS/DOI fire fighting experience to join our team.
Hillsboro Aviation, founded in 1980 is a well established and diverse company with several core business units. The contract and charter department operates 12 turbine aircraft including B205A1++, B407 and B206 series helicopters.
The position will cover 2-3 fire fighting contracts during the 2014 summer season operating B407 and B206L4 with relief services. One contract has SAR Short Haul requirements; proficiency in 150 ft vertical reference is needed to ensure the safety of the rescue personnel. Previously short haul experience is preferred. Applicant must be carded or cardable for the 2014 season.

- FAA issued rotorcraft-helicopter commercial pilot certificate with English proficiency endorsement
- Current class II medical
- Minimum 1,500 hours PIC turbine helicopters
- Minimum 150 hours PIC B407
- Minimum 300 hours PIC vertical reference (single pilot external load)
- Previous USFS/DOI fire/natural resource experience
- USFS/DOI cardable in B407 for 2014
- Short haul experience preferred
- Recent vertical reference experience preferred
- B206B, B206L or B205 time preferred
- Previous Bell Helicopter Factory School preferred
Must be legal to work in the US and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and be capable to climb the aircraft to perform pre-flight and other pilot related duties
