This Mayo One Pilot position provides rotorcraft pilot services primarily in Eau Claire, WI; with expectation of covering pilot shifts at non-primary bases of operation within the Mayo Clinic system, when necessary. The Pilot is expected to follow the Mayo Clinic Culture of Safety by modeling 5 safety behaviors; attention to detail, communicate clearly, have a questioning and receptive attitude, hand-off effectively, support each other – the ultimate goal is to place needs of our patients first by ensuring aviation safety. The Pilot will regularly utilize the instrument flight rule (IFR) infrastructure and night vision imaging systems (NVIS) as a standard of flight practice. The Mayo One Pilot will actively participate in management of a Safety Management System (SMS) as well as participate in annual simulation training. The Pilot will perform additional tasks contained in the Mayo Clinic General Operations Manual and department policies to support the Mayo Clinic air carrier certificate for part 135 operations. The Pilot’s weight must not exceed 250pounds/114kilograms. Class 2 medical exams must be coordinated through the Mayo Clinic Division of Preventive, Occupational and Aerospace Medicine. The position is 0.9 FTE/36 hours per week with every other weekend coverage - day and night 12 hour shifts to include scheduled shifts at non-primary base.
Current FAA Commercial Certificate with Rotorcraft Helicopter Instrument Rating Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate 2,000 total Helicopter Flight Hours 1,000 total Helicopter PIC Hours 1,000 total Turbine Hours 200 Helicopter Night Flight Hours (Aided and/or Unaided)
