|Job Desc:||Hillsboro Aviation is seeking a Chief Pilot for our contract and charter department. This is a management position for a professional helicopter pilot with proven leadership skills.
Hillsboro Aviation, founded in 1980, is a well established and diverse company with three core business units. The contract and charter department operates 13 turbine aircraft including B205A1++, B407 and B206 series helicopters as well as King Air C90 airplanes on the FAA Part 135 certificate.
The Chief Pilot is based out of Hillsboro, OR. This position’s responsibilities are organizing, conducting and documenting training for approximately 20 pilots to ensure safe operating procedures, proficiency and standardization. This also includes the maintenance of the corresponding training curriculums. These tasks will be supported by company instructors and check airmen.
The business portion of this position includes supporting the Director of Contact and Charter with marketing, sales and business development efforts; one aspect of these duties is the development or maintenance of operation manuals and/or SOPs to support current or intended operations.
The Chief Pilot should maintain proficiency in all of the company’s helicopter make and models as well as in the different operations conducted (natural resource flying, fire fighting, seismic, precision vertical reference, short haul, winter operations). Field supervision as well as relief activity will require the candidate to travel for shorter periods of time.
The candidate must be able to work independently within his/her areas of responsibilities with minimal supervision, must be organized, possess a strong work ethic and a desire to strive for organizational and operational improvements utilizing our established Safety Management System.
