CHC Helicopter is accepting Expressions of Interest, for a Flying Base Manager. This will be a 6 month contract with the potential for an extension. Location remains to be identified.

In this role, you can expect to work a 43/41 (rotation/shift) and will report to the Director of Business Development.

The Base Manager is accountable for three key areas;

  • business operations;
  • financial management;
  • asset management.

    Each of these three areas is underpinned by delivering outstanding safety results.

    Safety Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of all employees, customers, passengers and visitors to the base through the appropriate allocation of resources, documenting procedures, and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all the regulatory, customer and company requirements for health, safety, aviation and the environment.
  • Ensure the base level Immediate Response Plans (IRP), Emergency Response Plans (ERP), Emergency Demobilization Plan (EDP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and handbook policies are up to date and understood by all.
  • Measure prevention through early detection and avoidance of safety and / or health shortfalls.
  • Employees must comply with and adhere to all company policies
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • International travel may be required.

    Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with CHC system implementation such as: AIMS, AMOS, BMS, EFB and Workday.
  • Establish and maintain leadership and direction on base creating a positive and engaging work environment by emphasizing CHC Success Factors.
  • Proactively identify and establish continuous improvements in base operations including embracing new systems and technologies.
  • Manage the performance of base personnel; suppliers and contract personnel consistent with a positive work environment and within CHC values.
  • Resolve conflict on base to ensure effective operations.
  • Engage with customers, local government, aviation authorities and partners (Joint Venture / Agents) to ensure effective representation of CHC operations.
  • On-site responsibility for executing the contract(s) in full compliance with all agreed to terms and conditions.
  • Distribute and present clear communication internally and externally, especially regarding safety, customer service and business operations.
  • Lead in accordance with Code of Ethics and Integrity and collective agreement
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. and or Canadian UK and European entry Visa for training

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous Base Manager
  • Preference will go to an existing member of the Global Touring Pool
  • Current ATPL
  • Current S92 type rating
  • 3000 hours total time
  • 1000 hours PIC
  • 500 hours PIC Multi-Engine
  • 300 hours offshore
  • Current EASA/Transport Canada/FAA ATPL (H) with command IR / Night ratings
  • Valid passport
  • Understanding of financial/accounting operations
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with base operations, logistics management and resourcing
  • Extensive knowledge of the Oil and Gas Industry strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to diplomatically handle cross-cultural differences
  • Conflict management and negotiation skills within an operational environment
  • Team player with exceptional organizational and communications skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
