JOB SUMMARY

National Science Foundation - Antarctica Operations

In support of NSF - Antarctica Operations // Dual aircraft qualification required (Bell 212/AS350) //

Work schedule during Antarctic Summer Season approximately 28 September thru 21 February //

Alternate pilot may be required to deploy on short notice any time during the season and willing to stay for the duration of the season if required // Pilot must successfully complete extensive medical and dental exams

SCHEDULE/LOCATION:

Continuous duty-4 ½ to 5 months per year(Antarctic Summer Season) - 50 percent time off McMurdo Station, Antarctica

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:

Commercial Helicopter with Helicopter Instrument Rating // 1,500 Total Hours // 100 Total Hours In weight class // 50 Hours PIC in AS350 // 50 Hours PIC Bell 212 // 200 Hours Mountain experience (5,000 ft DA or above) // Cold Weather and Very High Altitude Experience Preferred // External Load Experience Preferred // Required to participate in the USAP Field Safety Training, Cold Weather and Survival Training

SALARY:

Antarctica Pay Scale Applies // Completion Bonus after second year
